Gilbert Water Filtration
Carbon filtration at the main line, so every shower and faucet gets water with less chlorine taste and smell.
City water is disinfected so it stays safe on the way to your home, and that disinfectant is what many people taste and smell at the tap and in the shower. A whole-house carbon filter sits where water enters the house and reduces that taste and odor at every fixture, not just the kitchen sink.
A carbon filter does not soften water. If you also have hard-water spots and scale, we install the carbon filter ahead of a softener so it protects the softener resin and you get both benefits.
We size the filter to your household's flow rate so water pressure stays strong when more than one shower is running.

A large tank of carbon media that backwashes itself. Long media life and good flow for whole-house use.

A carbon blend made to handle chloramine as well as chlorine, for homes that want both reduced.

Lower up-front cost with cartridges you change on a schedule. Best for smaller homes.

Catches sand and grit before it reaches the carbon or softener.
| Concern | Carbon filter | Softener |
|---|---|---|
| Chlorine taste and smell | Yes | No |
| White spots and scale | No | Yes |
| Protects water heater from scale | No | Yes |
| Protects softener resin | Yes | Not applicable |
No. Carbon filters reduce chlorine taste and odor. To remove hardness you need a softener, or a conditioner to reduce scale.
Tank systems often go several years between media changes, depending on water use. Cartridge systems need changes more often.
A correctly sized system should not cause a noticeable drop. Undersized filters are the usual cause of pressure problems.
Yes. The filter is installed first, then the softener, on the same softener loop.
